The power of prayer & energy work! First, watch as this tumor literally shrinks & disappears in just a couple minutes time. This is quite possibly the most amazing thing I've ever seen. And then watch how a man pronounced dead is blessed to come back to life. The power of prayer, & the power of our thoughts & emotional healing... Don't ever underestimate them, & don't ever underestimate what God can help you do!
Seeds, glorious seeds! A couple of years ago I attended a holistic health retreat where organic plant based & raw foods were served for lunch. It was AMAZING, & I was in heaven. I remember these large thin crunchy homemade crackers full of chia & flax seeds. They were completely divine. Of course, I meant to find out who brought them, but the day got away with me, & I forgot. Darn it. :(
So in my 2+ year long search for the perfect seed cracker recipe, and after none of the ones I'd tried really fitting my criteria, I started experimenting. It took a little work, taste testing, re-doing, & patience, but I finally created my own!
Chia seeds are SO fun to eat. Call me crazy, but they are... I put them in practically everything including drinks, vegetables, gravy, sauces/dressings, fruit salads, pasta dishes, pancakes, cookies, granola bars, smoothies, homemade ice cream, etc.
I've even made "Chia eggs" out of them. They make a great egg substitute in most recipes. So does ground flax seed.
BONUS: Chia / Flax "Egg" Recipe:
Mix 1 Tb. Chia seeds (or ground flax) & 3 Tb. water, & let sit for 5 mins.
Voila! Instant plant based egg substitute.

So my requirements for a good cracker are fairly simple.
#1 - Must be crunchy, at least around the edges. All the way through is best, but I can live if the very center is still just a tiny bit soft. Must be mostly crunchy though.
#2 - Must be healthy. Of course. No white flour, white salt, refined sweeteners, etc. Simple ingredients only.
#3 - Must taste good. In other words, they must actually have flavor & not be like soooooo many "BLEGH" healthy crackers out there.
#4 - Must be adjustable/customizable, if it's a recipe. I like to change up flavors sometimes, so it can't be one of those "follow the directions exactly, or it will fail" recipes.
That's all. Four easy things. And these crackers fit the bill. Yay! YES, feel free to change up ingredients if you would like. Substitute with other seeds. Use different kinds of herbs & spices. Lessen this & add more of that. Maybe even finely grated fresh or dehydrated vegetables or Parmesan cheese. Even though I think these are fairly perfect the way they are, I hereby give you permission to perfect them just for you.
Whole Food - Plant Based - Seed Crackers:
1 c. Chia seeds
1/2 c. flax seeds (whole or ground)
1/2 c. sesame seeds
1 c. water
1 tsp. Braggs liquid aminos or organic soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp. 'Wizard' brand vegan Worchestershire sauce
1/4 - 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 - 1/2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. nutritional yeast
1/2= tsp. Pink Himalayan salt (or other un-refined salt)
1 tsp. No salt herb/spice mix (My favorite is Costco/Kirkland brand 21 spice organic)
Combine all ingredients & mix well in a bowl. Let sit for about 10 minutes. Taste the mixture to make sure you like it. Adjust as needed, IF needed... (There are no animal food ingredients, so it's fine to taste raw.)
Lay a piece of parchment paper across a baking pan. (Tip: Use an air-bake insulated pan OR double up 2 baking pans. This allows for some air to circulate between the pans & makes for a thicker barrier between the crackers & the baking racks, which helps prevent burning. I just stacked 2 jelly roll pans & put Parchment paper on top.)
Spread the seed mixture onto the Parchment paper with the back of a spoon until it's about 1/8" thick. You may need to use 2 pans, depending on their size. The thinner the better!
Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove, slice into 1"-2" squares or strips, & carefully flip them onto the other side with a spatula. (I'm able to flip about 4 crackers at at time.)
Bake for another 20-30 minutes, depending on your oven. (Don't let the edges burn. You can spread the center of the crackers thinner than the edges too. Convection ovens also help with this issue. If they do burn a bit, just slice or break them off when they're done baking.)
Cool completely & let sit in the air for a while to get crispy. They're ok to eat right out of the oven, but the longer they sit, the more crispy & flaky they become.
For more digestability & nutritional value, soak & sprout your seeds first.
Do you think you're creative? I've met people who honestly think they don't have a creative bone in their body. But guess what. They're wrong. If you think you're not creative, think again. And I'm not just talking arts & crafts! That 'could' be it, but there are other avenues of creativity too. Writing, speaking, teaching, serving, building, inventing, designing... Endless possibilities.
From the moment you were born, you were creating.
Your creative pilot light is always on, even if you're not consciously, purposefully, & physically creating something... yet. It's just sitting there inside waiting to be used. Sometimes it takes a while to notice the little shining pilot light, and it patiently waits until you do notice. Creation begins with a single thought. And so from the beginning of when YOU were created, you have been creating. Congratulations! Give yourself a hand.
We create in every single aspect of our lives. Family, education, business, relationships, recreation, church, etc. We have an infinite number of creative centers in our brains. Some have never been opened & need to be, & others have, for whatever reason, been shut down & simply need opened up once again. You are a creative genius!
"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and GO DO IT. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman
Maybe you're afraid of failure. Maybe you're afraid of wasting your time or materials. Maybe you think you're not good enough. So what? Do it anyway. What's the worst that can happen?
The 15 strategies for manifesting your creative gifts that I'm about to share with you, I call the C.I.A.
Creative Intelligence in Action
#1 - Create a space for your CIA. Whatever is comfortable, beautiful, inspiring, purposeful, safe, relaxing, dreamy... If it gives you a positive sense of feeling, include it in your space.
#2 - Create time for your CIA. Even if it's 15 minutes each day. Consciously give yourself time to work on this. It is a gift.
#3 - Allow a little chaos. Maybe it's "organized chaos", but sometimes a little chaos can get the creative juices flowing. Just so long as it feels good & brings you joy. Open yourself up & don't be afraid of a little mess here & there.
#4 - Explore your options. Take a local class or an online course. Try something new, even if you don't know whether you'll enjoy it. Watch others be creative. It may inspire you.
#5 - Give yourself permission to be imperfect & just enjoy the process. My friend Meredith owns a popular blog called "Perfection Pending", & I believe that phrase fits perfectly here.
#6 - Go inside yourself. Find a quiet place each day... or week... and explore your inner self. Your mind, your body, your spirit. Pay attention to what it's telling you & how it feels. You'll be amazed at what you learn about you.
"Unless you begin to uncover yourself from the bottom of the heaping, mountainous pile of your obligations and busyness, you might not get a crack of time to cultivate your creative self." - Unknown
#7 - Allow pleasure into your life. Seek it. What makes you happy? What brings out your inner child? What do you want? What do you need? What do you desire? What do you love?
#8 - Have vision. See it in your mind. Think on it. Concentrate on it. Write it down. Say it out loud. Record it. Draw pictures of it. Like goals... when you get it out of your head & into a more concrete form, you're on your way to manifesting, creating success, & having it actually come about.
#9 - Have passion. What are you passionate about? Is it something you love? Is it something you hate? What interests you? What do you want to contribute to the world? What would you change, if you could? Get passionate about SOMETHING.
#10 - Have purpose. Everyone has a purpose in life. By combining desire, vision, & passion, you will begin to find your soul purpose in life.
#11 - Trust yourself, & trust God. If you feel fear, it's ok. Use it to your benefit with these 3 things:
Face it... Simply acknowledge the fear.
Fake it... Pretend to know what you're doing, even if you don't, & just do it anyway.
Faith it... Plant that little mustard seed, water it, & let it grow.
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1 Eventually the fruits of your labors will come about, & all that fear will subside.
#12 - Repeat. Once you've unlocked your creative genius, don't stop. Practice it.
#13 - Share it. The more you share it, the more you will master it.
#14 - Shine! When you allow your light to shine, you give others permission to do the same. "A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house." Matthew 5:14 Shining has an endless ripple effect. This world needs more light. It really does.
#15 - Be grateful. Above all, be grateful for the gifts you have within you, those creative gifts you were Divinely given. Once you've unlocked your creative genius, the 2 greatest ways to show gratitude are to thank God for giving you your gifts, and to use them for the benefit of others. which in turn benefits you. I learned this past weekend at a seminar from Kevin Clayson of Gratifuel - Flipping the Gratitude Switch, that despite what Webster Dictionary says... Gratitude is actually a verb. Gratitude & faith actually go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other, & they both require action.
I've always had a passion for all things creative. Over the years I've gotten more specific with those passions. In the past, they were centered around craft projects of any kind, which I still love, but I have evolved. In addition to my first & foremost purpose of wife & mom, my creative genius (my purpose) extends beyond that even further, in helping helping & teaching others how to heal, be healthy, & create their IDEALife (Individual Divine Empowering Abundant Life).
Do you know you're purpose? Have you unlocked your creative genius? If not yet, why not start now? I'd love to hear what you discover. :)
For once, I wish this were entirely about the past, but it's not.
In 2007, I had a severe bowel obstruction & ended up in the hospital. The doctor told us that there was no other choice but to do major surgery. He said the surgery would fix me, but I was not told of any of the risks other than signing the consent form which excused the doctor if I died on the operating table. I have a 5" scar down my belly now, & yet I loved that scar, because I thought I was fixed.
After the surgery I had 8 more obstructions in a few month's time & was in the ER & hospital every time. (The surgery did wonders, eh?) They told me on the 10th & last obstruction that if I had one more, they would do another surgery & give me a colostomy (permanent elimination bag).
What's interesting is, they did not even once do any enemas to clean out my intestines. Not in all of those ER/hospital stays. One nurse told me they "may" decide to give me a barium enema, which may or may not help, but they never did... They did give me one endoscopy (I thought I was going to die from that alone!), but it didn't do squat. Other than that, I was given IV fluids & morphine for the pain, as I waited it out in my hospital room for 1-3 days at a time. I was put on life long medications & was told to return every 5 years for a colonoscopy. The first colonoscopy, a year after the surgery, revealed slight polyps, but they told me I was ok.
My gastroenterologist informed me that the severe emotional stress from a situation growing up was most likely the main cause (emotional trigger) for the condition of my colon, which in turn caused the environment for the obstructions to occur. Our mainstream eating habits (refined & processed foods) caused poor digestion, which ultimately caused the obstructions.
It was not long after the obstructions finally stopped, that I began making changes in my family's diet & learning about holistic health. The obstructions never returned, & I was able to get off the medications & didn't need to go back for another colonoscopy. I fully attribute this success to ditching my "food product" Standard American Diet & trading it for drinking a lot of water & eating nourishing real food.
I haven't talked about the following to more than my immediate family & a couple of my practitioner friends. But I'm telling everyone now, not because I want too, but because:
1- People need to be informed (Bowel obstructions are more common than I thought) & need to know why it's SO important to ask questions before medical procedures or taking medications!
2- I want to explain one of the reasons why I've talked about new business projects (courses & trainings) but have not yet implemented them, when everyone keeps asking.
3- I need to let you know where I am emotionally & physically, because I think I'm ready for outside support instead of keeping it to myself.
4- I want you to know that practitioners & mentors/coaches don't have perfect lives, even if it looks like we do. We experience hard things. VERY hard things. And I believe it's because of this, that we're able to help & work with our clients with compassion & understanding.
Fast forward 7 years... In May of this year, 2 days after my daughter's wedding, I had another bowel obstruction. My wonderful friend's husband is an energy practitioner, & he graciously stayed up late to work on me that night. Along with that & other holistic remedies I used, as well as a LOT of prayer, I was able to finally pass everything & avoided going to the hospital for the first time in all of my obstruction history.
At the beginning of July I had yet another obstruction. I did much of the same & and was able to avoid going to the hospital.
Things manifest emotionally/energetically before they manifest physically. And once triggered, the physical results can be difficult to get rid of, especially in severe cases such as obstructions. (Getting & keeping your emotions & energy in balance, and eating real food are critical to a healthy life. Period.)
This past Tuesday, Aug 18th, coming home from a short trip to Utah, another obstruction started up in the car. My husband was with me this time, thank goodness (he was gone the other times). A couple of things came to my mind at that moment of realization... I'd eaten more meat in a 2 week period than I'd eaten in the last 6 months (we don't eat much meat), & we had to eat (the best we could, but still not great) at restaurants on our trip. I knew emotions & food were BOTH factors.
I threw up 3 times, my stomach was cramping worse than labor pains, I was shaking, & felt like I was going to pass out. I did the same routine as the other 2 times with energy work, homeopathy, colon cleansing, prayer, etc., but it wasn't working. The pain was unbearable, & I told my husband that I thought it was time he take me to the hospital. I knew it would not be good though, because they would push another surgery & a colostomy (the bag) on me. They already told me that... But I couldn't handle the pain anymore & was afraid it may be a full obstruction, which can kill a person. As against most pharmaceutical medications as I am these days, I was wishing for morphine.
In my faith (LDS) blessings are often given by Priesthood holders to those who are sick or afflicted. I asked my husband to give me a blessing. I was told in the blessing, that I would pass the blockage & be able to have a restful night's sleep. A little while later, after just about losing hope, I threw up one more time, used some essential oils, took a homeopathic remedy, did one last cleaning out of my intestines, & it FINALLY. SETTLED. DOWN.
I slept peacefully the rest of the night. Needless to say, when I woke up, I closed my eyes & thanked my Heavenly Father for the blessing.
It takes me at least 3 days to get back to feeling normal, & as of tonight, I'm still extremely tired. My belly & most of the muscles in my body are very sore. To say that bowel obstructions are worse than labor is an understatement.
To date, I have had 13. I hope to have no more...
As I laid in bed researching on my phone the next day, I found some very disturbing information... Information I was never told before my surgery 8 years ago, or any other of the 9 times I was in the hospital. If I had been informed, my decision to consent to the surgery may have been different.
Surgery to repair blocked bowels often causes adhesions and more blockages. Post-surgical adhesions are the primary cause of small bowel obstruction (SBO) - a life-threatening condition that prevents food from passing through the digestive tract.
Abdominal surgery is the most frequent cause of abdominal adhesions. Almost everyone who undergoes abdominal surgery develops adhesions; however, the risk is greater after operations on the lower abdomen and pelvis, including bowel and gynecological surgeries. Adhesions can become larger and tighter as time passes, causing problems years after surgery.
Surgery-induced causes of abdominal adhesions include:
And here I am... Exhausted emotionally & in pain physically, but grateful to be at home & not in the hospital. :)
As of yesterday, I'm:
- Working on a fairly strict gut/bowel healing diet.
- Beginning colon-hydrotherapy treatments, (safe & natural high powered colon irrigation), & massage therapy for my belly.
- Taking more time for & more care of myself.
- Focusing even more on personal, emotional, & spiritual development.
- Doing only what I feel I can do for as long as it takes.
- Not worrying anymore about whether others think we're weird or are offended by me (or my family) not eating "foods" that are served at potlucks, family/friend gatherings, parties, etc.
My advice for the day... Be kind to yourself & others. Get your emotions in check. Nourish your body with good food. Ask questions, & research! A little click of the mouse goes a very long way. (EDIT Saturday, Aug. 22nd) : I went on an unexpected long hard hike down a canyon & all the way back up today with 2 friends today. Sunshine & exercise did me a lot of good. I didn't know if I could do it, considering what my body had just experienced & was still feeling, but I did it! I learned a lot from that hike. It taught me things I've been pondering on the past couple of months, & my vision is a little clearer now. That very hard experience was extremely healing for me. I can do things I don't normally think I can do. And you can too. If you doubt your abilities, try it anyway. Perseverance, my friends.)
Do you grow wheat grass?
One pound of fresh wheatgrass is equivalent in nutritional value to 23 pounds of choice garden vegetables.
This nutrient-rich grass contains 17 amino acids which are the building blocks of proteins.
Wheat grass retains 92 of the 102 minerals found in the soil. These minerals include calcium, phosphorus, iron magnesium and potassium. It is a rich natural source of vitamins A and C. Wheat grass has more vitamin C than oranges and twice the vitamin A as carrots. It is exceptionally rich in vitamins E, K, and B-complex.
Wheatgrass juice is immediately absorbed into the bloodstream and gives immediate energy.
* Wheatgrass energizes and reduces fatigue.
* Wheatgrass is a appetite suppressant.
* Wheatgrass juice improves metabolism.
* Wheatgrass improves digestion.
* Wheatgrass juice enriches the blood, removes blood disorders, & lowers blood pressure
* Wheatgrass juice is antibacterial
* Wheatgrass juice helps cleanse the liver
* Wheatgrass juice prevents tooth decay
* Wheatgrass juice is good for skin problems. It improves complexion, treats acne, and removes acne scars.
* Wheatgrass juice keeps hair from graying & removes dandruff
* boosts the immune system
* calming the nervous system
* promotes regularity & helps fight constipation
* The chlorophyll present in wheatgrass will wash drug deposits from the body, neutralize toxins in the body, help purify the liver, and prevent aging. The chlorophyll also stabilizes blood sugar levels.
If you did not have access to fruits & vegetables, but you were able to sprout wheat grass, you would still be very well nourished!
You can juice it, chop/grind it up & add it to sauces, casseroles, smoothies, etc...
You can use a tray sprouter (I like Sprout Master brand best) or wide mouth mason jar to grow your wheatgrass.
Pour in 1/4 cup of fresh whole wheat.
Cover with water (about 2" above top of wheat) & let soak overnight.
The next day, rinse wheat (with cool water), then drain well. Do this AT LEAST 3 times a day.
Cover jar opening with cheesecloth or paper towel, etc... & secure with rubberband.
Keep in warm area, & expose to light (a window or small lamp work great)
In a day or 2 you'll notice little tails on your wheat. Within 4-5 days, beautiful green grass will fill your jar! Gently pull out the wheat sprouts & grass with tongs or your fingers...
*NOTE: In a jar, the grass will only grow about 2 inches high... In a sprouter, it will grow 4-6 inches high
.....And something you never knew about broken hearts.
Since October I've had the privilege of speaking & vending at a holistic living conference, a homeschooling conference, a preparedness conference, & an energy healing conference. It's been so fun to meet & teach so many wonderful people, including some of my clients & associates! I just wanted to share a few photos of these great events.
Most of my clients have had great success with changes taking place in their lives after just a session or two. However, once in a great while one will doubt or not feel like much of anything has changed. What if someone doesn't believe it will work? Or what if someone has faith that it works but doesn't seem to notice changes?
Your body, spirit, & subconscious mind know what is in your highest good, & shifts will take place whether you believe so or not. Just as conventional therapies sometimes do not work, there are times when energy therapies seem to not work.
There IS shifting going on in every session, but sometimes healing doesn't happen the way we expect it or hope for it too. These would be in cases where people continue to hold on to negative or blocked energies, because they subconsciously believe it serves a purpose or gives them an identity that they aren't ready to let go of. Sometimes they are subconsciously using their situation as a way of getting attention, sympathy, to make excuses for themselves, or to avoid responsibility. I know that can be hard to accept & admit, but I've had to do some humbling myself & realize that this has been the case in my own life on a few occasions.
Often times we as humans reach for familiarity, even if it's negative & dysfunctional. Sometimes it's our comfort zone... However, if we can let go of the perceived "need" for negative familiarity & allow positive familiarity into our lives, it becomes easier to stay positive and begin healing, even if we don't believe it at first. We also need to remember that healing takes place according to God's will. His ways are not always our ways, and sometimes there are lessons we need to learn.
Healing and curing are not always the same thing. Even if a physical cure does not take place, the peace that comes from healing can often be more of a blessing than the cure. Although there have been many instances with energy work, where curing has been a part of healing also. It's awesome when that occurs. If I had to choose between the two of them though, I would choose healing over curing. I've had instances in my own life where I was not "cured", but I experienced healing, because of the peace I received & the hope I found. I can't even begin to explain how freeing that was & is.
In my experience, many people notice profound results immediately & others take time. I personally experienced immediate results during my first session. The burden was gone, and the physical pain at that time was gone. I literally felt as if I was almost floating, & I had to look down at my feet to make sure I was still on the ground - (Yes, that's the truth) - I felt so light! Healing from later sessions seemed to take a little longer. I felt much better, but results came over time. Every person & every situation is different. You may feel immediate results, or it may take a while for you to notice them. Have faith. Have hope. Trust that God is aware & knows what needs to happen in your life. Be at peace with the process as your new way of being unfolds.
